HOUSE OF LOVE
Founded in 1995 and now an international success story, the French house of Maison De Vacances produces exquisite pillows, bed linens, throws and rugs. Designed by real life couple Emmanuelle Fouks and Nicolas Mauriac, this line is a complete RAZ favorite! The line features an array of glamorous textiles including metalized (gold & silver) linen, imperial satin, velvets, ostrich feathers, washed linen, cow hair, leathers, and the most scrumptious shaved rabbit fur. I first discovered this line at Calypso Home and ABC Home in NYC and haven't really seen it being sold anywhere else. What can I say other than that I am a proud owner of some of their creations and always crave more...they are so additive and just plain beautiful.

NY UNDERGROUND
BANDE À PART is a documentary record of the brilliant, anarchic spirit of downtown New York in the late 60s through
the early 80s, photographed not by some journalist covering the ‘counterculture’, but by the participants themselves.
These photographers lived the scene, and they have compiled their incredible shots of Blondie, Suicide, the VelvetUnderground, the Ramones, the New York Dolls, the Talking Heads, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, and David Bowie, on stage, backstage and just messing around. BANDE À PART is Basquiat and Mapplethorpe, glam rock and No Wave, CBGBs, Max’s Kansas City and the Factory--an extraordinary record of a long-gone time and a place in New York City history.

KURT MARKUS
Here are just some of the amazing photographs taken from After Barbed Wire: Cowboys of Our Time by one of my favorite photographers, Kurt Markus. This book was published in 1985, by Twelvetrees Press, and is a recent acquisition of mine. After first seeing it at The Strand rare book department in NYC this past spring, I was immediately taken back by its charm and its romanticized vision of the west...a place I was soon headed! Now that I reside in Texas, one of the states documented in this book, I can fully appreciate its cowboy heritage, history and legacy. The black and white photos are just terrific in their serenity, composition and the lure to "GO WEST, YOUNG MAN...." A RAZ must have...thats if you can get your hands on one...

LEGEND: FABIEN BARON
THE BOSS: Fabien Baron at his desk at Baron & Baron
I mean really...can any art director come close to the work of Fabien Baron? This is THE MAN to get you noticed, to revamp...anything, to give you a look. I first noticed his name back in the '90s when he then revamped the fashion magazine of that decade: Harper's Bazaar. Those fonts were just as exciting as the photos. His style is just eye-catching without trying so hard, like so many do in his field. I like that he can be conservative one minute and the next be the first to fuck it all up. You automatically wanna buy whatever he touches, and trust he has a lot to choose from. Not only has he been gifted graphically, Baron also is an amazing photographer, product and furniture designer, and commercial director as well. His look can be seen in numerous ad campaigns, books, magazines such as Arenna Homme Plus, Interview, and French Vogue and of course fragrances like CK One, L' Eau de Issey, and Victor&Rolf, just to name a few. I met him briefly at ABC Home earlier this year, and I noticed that he is quiet and powerful at the same time...much like anything he creates. He truly is a visionary artist and someone I truly admire and will continued to be inspired by...
